Trinidad
In 2003 Steve and his family arrived in Trinidad. Steve is working with a local pastor (Ricky Gosyne) in Reformed church-planting and theological education through MINTS (Miami International Seminary). Steve and Ricky are currently co-pastors of their first church plant (Covenant Reformed Evangelical Church). The church is involved in a mission outreach to a local community—Carlsen Field. Thanks to MTW’s partnership they have been able to host two medical clinics in the past year. This has added credibility to their outreach and has increased the attendance in the Sunday morning worship services.

Current Ministry: MTW has decided to partner with Steve and Ricky in their efforts to train national leaders in Reformed theology (through MINTS) throughout the English-speaking Caribbean. Steve is the English Caribbean coordinator for MINTS. Their focus is on seminary education, church planting, mercy ministries, and radio ministry. Ligonier Ministries has purchased four hours of radio time each week and broadcasts an all-night program of Dr. Sproul’s “Renewing Your Mind.” Steve is in the studio to take calls between segments. Ligonier has also set up an office in Trinidad to partner with Steve and Ricky. Steve also hosts a radio program, “Mars Hill Live.”
Future Ministry: Short-term teams, church renewal, church planting, and creating a church development team to serve in other Caribbean nations. |

Cultural and Ministry Context
Trinidad is an English-speaking island. The islands came under British control in the 19th century, with independence granted in 1962. The country is one of the most prosperous in the Caribbean largely due to petroleum and natural gas production and processing. The church is nominal and is in need of renewal and reformation. | We are excited about your interest in a long-term commitment to missions service.
MTW uses a team-based approach to missions. For that reason, we actively seek missionaries from a variety of backgrounds—ordained or unordained, singles and families, men and women—and with many different ministry skills and interests.
Though MTW's first priority is church planting, we also have missionaries working in a variety of other ministries such as teaching, medicine, community development, and administration.
We currently have one- and two-year and long-term ministry opportunities in over 50 different countries around the world. You are needed on the mission field!
