Purpose: In partnership with Christ Community Church (PCA), short-term teams serve a needy local community in a word and deed ministry, repairing homes and developing close relationships with the host families. Teams will need to bring their own tools.
Additional ministry opportunities include: Backyard Bible clubs, VBS, sports camp, day camp, kitchen support (individuals who come as full time kitchen support receive a discount), tutoring and one-on-one evangelism. Unique equipping for ministry and team building occur as the gospel is lived out in practical ways.
Age/level of experience: All ages may participate. We encourage mixed adult/youth teams and families. Parents may bring their younger children, but are responsible for supervision. This project is excellent for a first-time mission experience, but also provides unique servant heart development for more experienced mission teams.
Cost: $465 (estimate). Family discounts are available. The project fee covers all costs (including construction materials) except transportation, VBS (optional) materials, and day-off activities.

Travel:You are responsible for travel to Fairmont and daily travel to/from the work-site. Air travel can be handled by various agents; call for recommendations.
Food and Lodging: Dayspring Camp near Fairmont has cabins with bunk beds. There are generally 180 participants per week. Team members will need to bring towels, linens and sleeping bags (it can get quite cool at night). Breakfast and dinner are provided in the camp dining hall; sack lunches and soft drinks are supplied for lunch at the work-site.
Dress:The weather in WV varies greatly; bring clothing for cool and warm weather. Long pants are required on the work-site.Guidelines are provided for work and warm weather dress.
Immunizations and Rules:A tetanus booster within the last ten years is required. MTW's desire is to provide each individual and team with an atmosphere that encourages both safety and growth in their personal walk with the Lord. Appropriate guidelines have been established, and each team member must be committed to them.
Spiritual development:Bring a Bible, pen, and a desire to grow.In addition to what takes place daily at the project site, each team leader conducts their own team meetings, devotional times (devotional books are provided) and debriefs.We provide an evening program for everyone with a dynamic speaker and music that encourages each one.
Free time: There is free time on Wednesday afternoon. Teams may visit any number of local and state attractions. Bring spending money for the afternoon and for an evening meal out.
Project Orientation Trip (POT):Team leaders are required to attend on-site orientation where they work on logistics of construction and ministry assignment. All costs are covered, except for travel to/from Fairmont. Dates: April 30 - May 1, 2010
