Belize
The Presbyterian Medical Clinic in Patchakan, Belize was established in 1992 by missionaries. Currently there is a family practice doctor serving as a long-term missionary to the clinic. MTW’s goal is to assist the clinic by providing health care professionals for one- to two-week periods (or longer).
Spanish-speaking ability is helpful, though not required. Teams will be involved in hands-on medical work with opportunities for evangelistic outreach into the villages through the local Presbyterian churches. Team members will stay at the clinic or in local hotels. Meals will be eaten in local restaurants or at the clinic.

Bulgaria
Serving in two different communities alongside local church partners of MTW, the medical ministry in Bulgaria serves to meet special needs of the members of the church as well as local Bulgarians who suffer with cerebral palsy, autism, and various physical therapy needs.
There is also an established relationship with the hospital in Sophia, Bulgaria. The hospital is in need of short-term teams of medical professionals who specialize in therapy, psychology, special education, pediatric neurology.
Future projects will also include mobile clinics, addressing a broader area of medical needs to undergird the MTW church-planting efforts in various communities in Bulgaria.
Ethiopia
Teams and individuals will serve within a home-based care outreach for HIV infected and affected individuals and families (known as “beneficiaries”). Time on the field may include, but is not limited to: home visits, assistance with schooling, health maintenance/teaching, hospice care, build and maintain relationships with local medical authorities, assist with record keeping, etc.
Kenya
MTW’s goal is primarily to serve the people inhabiting the slum areas in and around Nairobi. The goal of this ministry is to support and work alongside pastors of the African Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The burden of disease in these areas is huge due to overcrowding, malnutrition, poor sanitation and limited access to healthcare. Local health concerns are respiratory infections, HIV/AIDS, skin infections, gastritis, sexually transmitted diseases, intestinal worms, and malaria.
Mexico
Medical care within Mexico is obtainable and inexpensive if you are employed. Those that are not employed have difficulty accessing and affording medical care. MTW teams work alongside a national worker (in support of the local church) in the city of Acapulco, Mexico.
Optometry and dentistry services are in high demand and can further help the church in mercy outreach. Medical teams will hold clinics in local churches and at the orphanage, Casa Hogar.
Myanmar

Peru
Small medical teams serve through outpatient mobile medical clinics in small mountain villages. The ministry works under the Hinterland Health Ministry model implemented by the MTW team in Peru, serving in word and deed through evangelism and medical treatment.
Philippines
The MTW church-planting team in the Philippines has a three-fold philosophy in their ministry: mentoring, missions and mercy. There is a great need for short-term medical teams to aid in fulfilling their goal by providing mercy ministries through medical teams. Through the clinics, teams are able to make many contacts for outreach for the churches. Teams are also able to encourage and care for the members of the church body. Adequate medical care is not readily available to the average Filipino. Among the highest health concerns are lung and skin diseases.
