Current Needs
A number of projects are currently being considered. It is anticipated that in 2010 we will be looking for university workers in Glasgow . There are also potential church revitalization opportunities. |
Cultural and Ministry Context
Scotland is a land dominated by post-modern, skeptical, humanists. While Scotland once had a strong national Presbyterian commitment, the Christian church is now quite small with less than 2.5% of the people regularly attending an evangelical church. Despite these significant obstacles, the Lord is surely calling to Himself a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered community in Scotland. In fact many Scottish ministers have sensed a greater cultural openness to the gospel in recent years. The MTW Scotland Project is culturally relevant, and its emphasis on partnership is particularly suited to modern Scotland. Given the recent growth and encouragement experienced by the current MTW Scotland ministries, we are hopeful for further opportunities and blessings in the future.
| We are excited about your interest in a long-term commitment to missions service.
MTW uses a team-based approach to missions. For that reason, we actively seek missionaries from a variety of backgrounds—ordained or unordained, singles and families, men and women—and with many different ministry skills and interests.
Though MTW's first priority is church planting, we also have missionaries working in a variety of other ministries such as teaching, medicine, community development, and administration.
We currently have one- and two-year and long-term ministry opportunities in over 50 different countries around the world. You are needed on the mission field!
